On Oct. 29, members of the Santa Clarita Elks Lodge No. 2379 visited third-grade students at Pinetree Community School.

As part of the group's community outreach and the National Dictionary Project, each student was presented with a new dictionary.

Last year, three million dictionaries were distributed to third-graders throughout the United States.

This year the Elks Lodge distributed 120 books to four classes at Pinetree Community School.

They are planning to distribute more than 1,000 dictionaries to third-grade students in the Santa Clarita Valley.
