We should be healthy

In response to the cynics and the negative people who responded and "slam-blasted" Minerva L. Williams' letter to the editor ("Live healthy, be happy," Sept. 20) in their comments:

What is wrong with telling or suggesting to the American people to be more cautious of what they eat, telling them to eat healthy and encouraging them to participate in more physical activities to help maintain a healthy lifestyle?

"Passing on the Kool-Aid" was a point well-taken, and passing on unhealthy foods is now a widespread plea. There is an epidemic of obesity in this country which leads to many nightmarish health problems.

It is a proven fact than when people need less health care attention, that affords them to "live healthy, be happy" and helps them to a more productive life.

Again, to the cynics and negative people who responded to this positive letter: Would you rather have an "unhealthy life and be sad?"
