Valencia High tennis players Jack Zapala and Tyler Gottshall competed in the CIF-Southern Section round of 16 on Friday. The duo competed amongst all divisions in the southern section at the Seal Beach Tennis Club.

Zapala and Gottshall were victorious in their first round match against Harvard Westlake's Chris Kenney and Mark Seraydreartian winning 7-6, 6-2.

However, they fell to Brentwood's Jackson Isaacs and Chris Lord in the quarterfinals, 6-3, 1-6, 1-6.

Zapala now shifts focus to his college career at Azusa Pacific University, while Gottshall returns to the Vikings varsity team next season.
