Bring our troops home

I can say we were getting inklings of this fraud before the elections began. (“Runoff ordered in Afghan election marred by fraud,” Oct. 19.)

Maybe they will now admit that if “hundreds of thousand ballots” can be tampered with, imagine what else the independent UN sources could find.

In addition, the warlords tell the media that (since) Karzai only runs Kabul anyway, maybe we can end this “damn war.”

Every time I think about the young people maimed and killed, taxpayers’ money used and families in upheaval to run this Bush “he-man joke” of a war, trying to get the “natural gas and oil” out of that region, I want to scream. The goose bumps on my arms rise and I can feel the hair on the back of my neck curl. We need to get our troops out of there immediately, close the damn bases, bring our (troops) home and help our own.

Our military is stretched to the hilt. We heard the general say on “60 Minutes” two weeks ago, “we need 45,000 more troops” and records indicate he asked for even more. You mean to say we do not see all those “poppy fields” growing now all over the place? Read the health reports. The number of citizens and troops having heroin problems right here in the U.S. of A is increasing.

We are all over the place saving the world, while the European big dogs are masterminding how to exclude us from the economic table, which we did a handsome job of screwing up all by ourselves.

Please bring our troops home Howard “Buck” McKeon. You are the big military chairman now, right?
