Community complaints came to a head this week when sheriff's deputies conducted a probation sweep and arrested three men suspected of dealing drugs out of a Newhall residence.

Shortly before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, deputies converged on a residence in the 24000 block of Race Street - a location which has been the subject of several complaints regarding late-night drinking and possible drug dealing, according to a sheriff's report.

Two Newhall men, ages 25 and 26, a 26 year-old parolee at large, and a 25-year-old woman were arrested, according to the report. Their names were not released, as there is an ongoing investigation by the Sheriff's Department's Narcotics Bureau.

The deputies arrived at the location Wednesday to find it surrounded by a chain link fence with a padlocked gate, and three pit bulls in the yard. The parolee at large reportedly ran toward the back fence, then ran into the house when he realized he was surrounded.

When the deputies entered the house, they reportedly found three children living in "unsafe, unhealthy and unsanitary conditions."

They reportedly determined that the other two suspects arrested were suspected gang members.
