Marriage ruling’s unintended consequence

Now that California's liberal judges have once again erased the will and intent of the voters in ruling to make gay marriage legal, let's see if they have the same fortitude and tenacity for what they would call an "unintended consequence."

In the past several years, domestic partners have been given the right to procure medical insurance for their mates purportedly because they were not allowed to have a legally recognized "marriage." With that,
once the go-ahead is given to perform said marriage ceremonies, will the aforementioned acquisition to insurance benefits be abolished? After all, if these folks are allowed to marry then they should have to live within the same restrictions as straight couples who are not granted health insurance merely because they cohabitant. Gays and lesbians surely will not be entitled to have it both ways as that would be discriminatory.

Does anyone think we'll be seeing our governor, state legislature, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom or L.A. Mayor Villaraigosa out there announcing this development?
