Santa Clarita Valley resident Myrna Condie, who was recently named California Mother of the Year, was recognized by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday.

Condie was named California Mother of the Year by American Mothers, Inc., an advocacy group for mothers. Los Angeles County Fifth District Supervisor Michael Antonovich listed Condie’s contributions to the Santa Clarita Valley during Tuesday’s meeting. Condie serves on both the Santa Clarita Valley Boys and Girls Club and College of the Canyons foundation boards.

Condie said she was honored to represent the best in motherhood.

“It’s great to represent all you great mothers in the great state of California,” she said.

Dorothy DeVore, president of the California Chapter of American Mothers Inc., was on hand to congratulate Condie.

“Myrna is the epitome of what American Mothers stands for,” she said.
