Santa Clarita community and College of the Canyon students:

Election time is here and I welcome the change of leadership roles that will be beneficial not only to our community, but our education system as well.

Every aspect of our community is affected by the economic downturn, meaning we have to select leaders in our community with the dedication and compassion to boost not only the morale of our valley, but to make key changes with great wisdom in policies concerning our educational system.

I have met the candidate I will be voting for indefinitely: Randy Moberg, who is the chairman of the Valley Industrial Association and is ultimately the best person to fill seat No. 3 on the COC Board of Trustees.

First, Moberg inspires youth through education and offering free business seminars to college students. Additionally, with rising prices in tuition and books, students need an individual with a business mind-set and refined skills, all of which Moberg has acquired through his 30 years as a successful businessman.

Furthermore, Moberg has expressed his overwhelming passion to help COC’s disadvantaged students’ educational needs as a member of the COC Foundation Board.

Finally, I encourage you, my fellow citizens and students, to vote on behalf of an individual who has the capacity and leadership skills to take our educational needs to the next level. It’s time for someone to step up and make a difference, and Randy Moberg is the right person for the job.
