A stellar effort for justice

To The Editor:

I wanted to respond to a letter to the editor by Janice L. Maurizi, Director of the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office ("No Stone was unturned during quest for justice," Sunday, May 18).

Janice, you are 100% correct! I should have done more digging into the people that did make a difference, including your efforts. When I wrote the commentary on slain Deputy David March, I made every sincere effort to give those who protect the public from the evils of an Armando Garcia to respond as to why the delay almost four years took place bringing this domestic terrorist Garcia to justice. In fact, you, Janice, were instrumental in working behind the scenes, where people like me cannot often see the everyday goings-on.

I must commend you and acknowledge your stellar effort in swimming upstream against a political current that perhaps did not favor a swift movement to justice for the March family and hundreds of other victims

Regrettably, there are many in government who do not go that extra mile so imperative in moving these boulders of bureaucracy.

I must tell you I view you as a hero and because of your effort, inmate Garcia will spend the rest of his natural life within the California Department of Corrections.

Thank you for what you do, and continue to do on behalf of the people of Los Angeles County.
