Jobless rate dips for April in SCV

3,200 people without jobs in Santa Clarita

Santa Clarita's unemployment rate dipped .1 percent between March and April, according to the latest data from the state Employment Development Department.

The city's unemployment rate for April stands at 3.4 percent, a slight change from March's 3.5 percent, according to the figures that have not been seasonally adjusted.

The labor force in Santa Clarita is at 92,100 with an employment of 88,900. April's total unemployment is 3,200, according to the numbers released Friday.

Santa Clarita's unemployment rate remains two percentage points below Los Angeles County's rate, which is 5.7 percent not seasonally adjusted and 5.9 percent when seasonally adjusted.
