Stones arrested for selling marijuana
Garret and Spencer Stone were arrested last Friday night in Stevenson Ranch for allegedly selling marijuana, officials said Monday.

The arrest occurred after an off-duty officer noticed several juveniles smoking and drinking near Beckett Lane and Barnett Lane. A subsequent investigation led detectives to the Stone's vehicle, which emitted a
strong odor of marijuana. Detectives found large quantities of marijuana, currency and a scale.

Garret Stone, 18, and Spencer Stone, 19, were arrested on suspicion of selling a controlled substance; both were booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station, where they spent the night until they were
released the next day. Bail was set at $20,000 for each suspect. They are scheduled to appear in court today.

Five arrested for drinking in public
Deputies arrested five people in Newhall for drinking alcohol in public last Thursday evening, officials said Monday.

As deputies patrolled the area of Arch Street and 3rd Street in downtown Newhall, they saw approximately 15 individuals, including minors, drinking alcohol. Several people reportedly scattered into nearby
apartments, though deputies were able to detain six individuals. Five of them were arrested after several beer cases and empty bottles were discovered.

The names of the arrested individuals were not released by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station, though they reportedly believe that the suspects are members of the Newhall 13 gang.

Valencia couple assaulted
Two Newhall men were arrested on Friday night after one of them allegedly brandished a knife and lunged at a man near College of the Canyons.

The male victim was walking with his girlfriend along Valencia Boulevard near Rockwell Canyon Road when he was reportedly approached by two Hispanic males.

Both suspects made demands to the victim in Spanish. When the victim did not understand what was said, one of the suspects reportedly brandished a knife.

The male victim was able to avoid an attack and escape without injury.

After the incident, deputies found the suspects walking alongside Rockwell Canyon Road.

Joel Martinez, 19, and Wilmer Jiguan, 20, were both arrested and booked at the Sheriff's Station on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and attempted robbery. Both are held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
