Valencia resident earns Distinguished Alumna Award

Elizabeth Yost honored by Southern Connecticut State University

Elizabeth Yost, a resident of Valencia and vice president of development for the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel, will be honored as a recipient of the Distinguished Alumna Award from Southern Connecticut State University.

The award, which will be presented on Oct. 16 at the Michael J. Adanti Student Center, is one of the highest honors bestowed by Southern on its graduates.

As vice president, Yost oversees the development and production of all network original programming and the scripting and casting of the network's productions. She is based in the Los Angeles office. Yost received a Bachelor of Science degree in communication from Southern.

Yost joined the Hallmark Channel as director of development and original programming. Prior to joining the company, she held positions at EMY Entertainment, an independent production company; Hearst Entertainment; Robert Greenwald Productions, a prolific prime time telefilms supplier; and the William Morris Agency, where she assisted in representing a variety of movie and television actors.

She is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and Women's Entertainment Network.
