Two teenage girls were arrested Tuesday morning in Castaic after deputies caught them in a car with stolen goods and their two male friends ran away, officials said.

Deputies arrested a 15-year-old girl and 19-year-old Emily Buist on suspicion of burglary at about 3:30 a.m. in the 28000 block of Greenwood Place, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Mark Hershey.

Deputies were responding to a call about a car burglary, Hershey said.

The girls were sitting in a car while two male suspects rummaged through the vehicle with one of the doors open, Hershey said.

The male suspects ran away as deputies approached, leaving the girls sitting in the back seat of the unknown suspects' car with stolen goods from the burglarized vehicle.
