The Valley Industrial Association (VIA) and Junior Achievement (JA) seek mentors for today's high school students to help prepare them for their future.

VIA and JA are holding a workshop "Connecting to Success" to help students prepare for the workplace.

On Oct. 29 and Nov. 12, 2,500+ students will gather to receive guidelines on business success.

Each conference event will run from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and take place at the Grace Baptist Church in Santa Clarita.

Both conferences still need volunteer facilitators and organizers and looking for successful businesspeople to be stellar examples to the students of the Santa Clarita Valley.

Facilitate a breakout session at Connecting to Success. Team up with a friend and help deliver the program that is preparing Santa Clarita's workforce. You will be presenting the same activity to three sessions of students for each conference event.

Work-readiness session topics include:
* Communicating your Value - learning the importance of interpersonal skills in resumes and interviewing.
* Ethics in the Workplace - discovering what are ethics and why are they important in business.
* Financial Literacy - demonstrating how to protect and build your financial future, basic banking and credit.

Grace Baptist Church is located at 22833 Copper Hill Drive, Santa Clarita 91350.
