Do the right thing with health care

The cost of health insurance is rising; coverage is harder to get as pressure for profit intensifies. What you think you’re paying for may not be there when you need it. These are facts — they are undeniable.

A public “option” available in a health insurance index would not be mandatory — it’s optional. It would not turn all health insurance into “government-run.” It does not mean you would have to give up what you already have if you’re satisfied with it. It can help level the playing field for individuals and small businesses who don’t have access to big company plans.

What’s scary about this? Change? Cost? Who pays for the uninsured now? You and I do.

Perhaps we could take a more proactive approach on our own behalf as well as that of our fellow Americans.

Do the right thing.
