A false bomb threat to a medical office in the Cinema Professional Center in Valencia left employees and customers standing outside Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The Retina-Vitreous Associates Medical Group office on Cinema Drive was one of the company's multiple branches to receive the call between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., Los Angeles County sheriff's Sgt. Tom Jensen said.

"It was a false call," he said. "They had a call of a possible bomb threat and they had to evacuate the building."

The office's practice manager Adam Smucker said about six employees and a couple of customers were in the office when the evacuation occurred.

"We were disrupted for about 45 minutes," Smucker said. "We have patients here who we're trying to take care of."

Deputies also asked other offices in the center to evacuate the building.

A group of employees waited across the street while deputies investigated the scene, said Cinema Dental Care office manager Michelle Ratliff.

Jensen said no incidents occurred from the threat.
