The County of Los Angeles, Department of Parks and Recreation, presents the "The Gathering of Nations - Native American Exhibit and Art Show" through Nov. 14.

This Tesoro Adobe Historic Park show in Valencia, is in celebration of the November National Native American Heritage Month, as proclaimed by President Barack Obama on Oct. 13.

These historical exhibits on Native American Indians is the first phase of a three year project on 500 federally recognized tribes in the United States as researched and designed by L.A. County Parks & Recreation leader Al Ewing.

The accompanying art show features paintings, drawing and sculpture on Native American themes, such as Indians, nature, animals and wildlife.

At the heart of the "Gathering" is the photography of Ken "True Eyes" Lubas, a "team projects" Pulitzer Prize winner and former photojournalist from the Los Angeles Times.

Public viewing is Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
