The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce’s 25th annual Home and Business Expo is set for Friday through Sunday at the Santa Clarita Sports Complex.

Nearly 100 businesses will be represented at the Expo, a weekend for chamber members to showcase their businesses. This year’s theme is “Make it new, make it better, make it Expo.”

The Expo kicks off Friday at 5 p.m. with Taste of Expo, with samplings from 25 local restaurants and caterers. Taste of Expo lasts until 9 p.m.

The Expo will continue Saturdayfrom 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. .

Musical entertainment will be provided by groups including Blue Sky, Done Away With Faye, First Class Funerals.

Additional entertainment will be provided by D.E.E. Performing Arts Studio, SOS Entertainment, New World Dance Studio, College of the Canyons Dance, Dance Studio 84 and Results Fitness.

The sagging economy has created a renewed focus on doing business close to home. Support for local businesses has the added benefit of preserving the community through increased tax revenues.
