Student for Valdes

I am a junior at Saugus High School and in the past few years I have taken up a strong interest in politics.

I've had quite the love-hate relationship with our nation's political system, often being disappointed by the dirty tricks and lack of accountability politicians are all too well known for.

However, there is a candidate running for the Hart School Board who has shown me there is more good in our political system than I often give it credit for. Her name is Linda Valdes.

I have never seen a candidate so passionate to do well by the community and so committed to running an honest and respectable campaign.

As an educator at Rio Vista School for 10 years, Linda understands the issues facing teachers and students, especially in the grim financial climate we all are facing. She is a parent of three and understands the crucial role parents play in the decision-making process.

Building Castaic High School is one of Valdes' top priorities and instead of making empty promises, she has taken action.

I worked with Valdes on the committee to pass Measure SA and the passion with which she worked to see this bond succeed in order to secure funding for Castaic High and other district projects showed me how committed she is to getting this school built.

Valdes offers many positive steps forward in a time of uncertainty that all schools in the Santa Clarita Valley, in California and across our nation are facing.

As a student, I encourage you to consider supporting Valdes because of her unmatched passion to improve our schools and our community.
I encourage you to support Valdes because of her understanding of issues facing the Hart district.

Most importantly to me, I encourage you to support Valdes because of the integrity with which she will serve on the Hart School Board.
