Pelosi hypocrisy

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi bemoans the rhetoric that Americans are using in their rightful protests of what they perceive to be the ill-advised direction of implementing national health care.

She opines that this type of verbiage led to the assassination of Harvey Milk in 1978. She is right in pointing out over-the-top statements by a few town-hallers, but once again displays her political myopia by singling out only those with whom she disagrees.

Selective hearing permits her to ignore statements by Harry Reid, who called protesters "fear mongers;" Steny Hoyer, who called them "very rabid people;" Jimmy Carter, who called them "racist;" and the Democratic National Committee, which labeled them "angry mobs of ... extremists." Pelosi herself called them "un-American."

In addition, her latest fundraising newsletter accuses the GOP of "cynical name-calling."

I am just hoping the next time she puts her foot in her mouth, it might shut her up long enough to reflect on what the leaders of her own party are saying.
