More bike lanes

I am a bicyclist, attempting to reduce my carbon footprint by leaving the car home as much as possible. I support the Santa Clarita Bike Master Plan and the city's efforts to improve biking by installing a network of bike facilities, including the new bike lanes on Decoro.

Bike lanes are safe and affordable way to expand bike access and keep people healthy, out of their cars and safe. Bike lanes are statistically safer than sidewalk riding due to predictability.

The city gets a lot of funding from the state for bike improvements and bikes have to be accommodated on all new road projects.

They get this funding by implementing the Bike Master Plan that went through a long public process.

The Decoro option is a good one for people in Saugus, when compared to Copperhill or Newhall Ranch Road or McBean or Bouquet.

I support continued development of bike lanes throughout the region. The positive economic (the past few years the Amgen tour has brought publicity and dollars to Santa Clarita) and environmental impact (bikes are green, compared to cars) make bike lanes a good investment of funds.
