Today is the last day the local assistance center for fire victims will be open at Veterans Memorial Community Park in Sylmar, located at 13000 Sayre St. The center has served as one-stop information point regarding federal, state and regional disaster relief services.

The U.S. Small Business Administration will offer help with applications for disaster loans, on Sept. 28 and Oct. 5 at the Acton Community Center, located at 3748 Nickels Ave.
