Damara Ganyo, a first-grader at Highlands Elementary School in Saugus, gave Felix, her class's stuffed bunny, a tour of the Santa Clarita Valley.
One of her stops was at the Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival, where Felix got a feel for the Western lifestyle by riding a horse and playing games in the children's area.
The students in Mrs. Grossman's class, where Ganyo is a student, take turns bringing Felix home, along with the book, "Letters from Felix."
Youngsters take care of the floppy-eared bunny and take him around wherever they go. At the end of the week, the student will write a letter to the class sharing Felix's adventures.
