City ‘master plan’ transparent

As everyone knows, we citizens are constantly pleading for more transparency within our government.

Well, I think our brilliant city leaders have finally delivered the ultimate in transparency for our fine city with their recent restriping of major traffic corridors.

It's now obvious these are the main elements of their Master Plan:

n Approve funds, i.e., our hard-earned tax dollars, to implement a brilliantly conceived non-motorized traffic plan.

n Approve high density construction everywhere possible in SCV such as the Henry Mayo office expansion plan, new hotels, multi-story condominium complexes, etc.

n Continue requiring fewer parking spaces for new high density construction, thus reducing costs to developers.

n Force SCV residents to ride bicycles everywhere they need to travel.

n Require automobile dealers to cease selling vehicles and start selling bicycles.

n Generate turmoil that only city leaders can fix, i.e., downtown Newhall's back-in parking, opening cul-de-sacs to heavy traffic in Saugus and Canyon Country, restriping our major traffic corridors to reduce automobile lanes and add bicycle lanes, constructing a MRF in a residential community, etc.

n Instigate so many messes that only our city leaders can correct, thus making it possible and even necessary for an apathetic public to vote them back into office so they can retain power.
