There’s still room at the table for tonight’s Silver Horseshoe Saloon fundraiser for the Old Town Newhall Association, group manager Suzie Szabo said.

By early Friday evening about 230 people were expected at the fundraiser, held tonight at Golden Oak Ranch from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Szabo said she has room for about 10 more people.

Tickets are $100.

The event raises money for the association, which partners with the city in promoting the revitalization of downtown Newhall.

After guests receive a hayride into the ranch — located in Placerita Canyon — the night will feature a carne asada barbecue, a casino, raffles, auction and live music by Riders of the Purple Sage.

“We usually have a very good time,” Szabo said. “It’s a good evening; it’s fun and low-key.”

She said the event usually raises a total of between $20,000 and $24,000.

“We need to promote and maintain and even take an active part in the economic development of Old Town Newhall,” Szabo said.

“It takes money to do things.”

For more information call the association office at (661) 253-0730.
