Man throws screwdriver at deputies
A man threw a screwdriver at deputies shortly after they saw him looking inside vehicles near 6th and Pine Streets in Newhall early Wednesday morning.
According to a report filed at the Santa Clarita Valley Sherrif's Station, Angel Brianos, 25, of Sylmar, was immediately arrested. After a brief investigation, deputies found a car stereo, amplifiers, speaker boxes and other items in a grassy area near the sidewalk where the deputies first spotted Brianos.
The items were allegedly stolen from two vehicles that Brianos broke into in a nearby garage.
Brianos was booked at the Sheriff's Station on a felony burglary charge and a misdemeanor charge of possession of burglary tools, and is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
Vehicle burglarized inside garage
A burglar managed get inside a covered garage and break into a vehicle at the Canyon Crest Apartments in the 23600 block of San Fernando Road in Newhall between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on May 6.
The burglar broke into a 2003 Black Mini Cooper and stole several personal items from the passenger side of the vehicle, including an iPod MP3 player.
