Sponsor HR 1826

I would like to strongly urge George Runner, Buck McKeon, Audra Strickland and other local legislators to co-sponsor the Fair Elections Now Act (HR 1826) to create a citizen-funded election system for our congressional races.

Think about it: The implementation of this critical reform would increase the number of candidates who would run for office with the combination of small donations and public funds.

It's time to end the campaign money chase and challenge the adage that "money is the milk of politics."

We can review how this has been very successful in Arizona, Connecticut and Maine's citizen-funded election systems.

Yes, this would mean the end of the large dependency on large building, financial, insurance, medical, oil corporations, unions and pharmaceutical companies.

We can only hope the HR 1826 legislation will invite more Americans, who really represent hard-working citizens, to become more involved in finding remedies to the economic chaos, the mortgage problems, the job losses and making America more solvent.
