I can not thank Dr. Pechter in Valencia enough for the way he supported military on Aug. 31.

I am a Marine and I needed a plastic surgeon to close my earlobes. They had been stretched from those gauges in high school.

The military is very strict on appearance so I had a consultation in Dr. Pechter's office.

He fit me in, and did the minor surgery that same day. He knew I had to get back to combat training in 10 days. I still can't believe that after the 30-minute procedure, when I asked the nurse how much, she said, "Complimentary."

This is a story I wanted people to know. I am proud to be a Marine and to fight for our country. I am even more proud of people like Dr. Pechter who didn't have to do what he did.

Americans are working together to make a better place. So whenever you see a Marine, just stop and thank him or her for what they do. Thanks again, Dr. Pechter for your generosity. I will never forget it. Hoorah!
