Thanks, guardian angels

They say there are angels among us all the time.

Well, I can verify that. I was traveling south on San Fernando Road (Railroad Avenue) in the fast lane with my dog when all of a sudden my car lost power and simply died there on the spot. What could I do but sit there and wait?

After about five minutes a big SUV pulled up behind me. Two angels in street clothes stopped as other cars were speeding past. "We must get you out of here," they said.

I have to use a walker. They got it out of the trunk, stopped the traffic and we all trundled across the street.

After I was safely across, they pushed my car to the side of the road. They made the necessary calls to AAA, put me in their air-conditioned car to wait for the tow truck while they were outside in the 104-degree heat.

Their names were Jim and Henry.

I will be eternally grateful to them. Santa Clarita should be proud of these two men who went out of their way to help a senior in distress. They were indeed two angels.

I just want people to know: These are the kind of people who live here in Santa Clarita.
