A Palmdale man is in custody after allegedly attempting to kidnap a 15-year-old girl at a Canyon Country bus stop last week, officials said on Thursday.
Cesar Galvan, 27, allegedely approached the girl, who was sitting on a bus bench at Soledad Canyon Road and Camp Plenty Road on April 29, and asked her some questions. The report then alleges that Galvan grabbed her arm and attempted to pull her from the bus stop.
Detectives reported that the victim apparently resisted Galvan's advances, kicked him, and escaped to safety. Galvan apparently fled the area, as well, and was not immediately found.
A follow-up investigation at the Canyon Country bus stop was conducted on Tuesday afternoon by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station's Robbery and Assault Team. Galvan allegedly returned to the same bus stop.
After detectives determined he was the same man accused of attempting to kindap the 15-year-old girl one week earlier, Galvan was arrested and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on a felony charge of attempted kidnapping. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Seeking possible additional witnesses, detectives released a photo of Galvan and his vehicle, a gray 2004 four-door Honda Civic.
Anyone who has had contact with Galvan, may have seen the suspect's vehicle near the bus stop or witnessed the incident on April 29 should immediately contact Detective Rick Welch at the Santa
Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station. Phone (661) 799-5141.
