Proposal a prescription to destroy families

A funny thing happened on the way to the government-run health care victory party - the facts leaked out to the American voter.

Among other proposed health care "fixes," hidden deep within H.R. 3200 is a little-noticed provision for state grants for what is termed "Home Visitation Programs for Families with Young Children and Families Expecting Children" (Section 440, page 838).

For liberals, this bill - especially this section - is their magic elixir.

By creating the "Home Intrusion Police" program that allows agents of the government (known as "well-trained and competent staff") to visit the homes of parents with young children and those who are expecting children for the purpose of providing "knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive, language, social, emotional and motor domains;" "knowledge of health and wellness issues for children and parents;" "modeling, consulting and coaching on parenting practices;" and "activities designed to help parents become full partners in the education of their children," it is all but guaranteed that the government will assume your parenting role.

If these planned outcomes don't constitute Big Brother intrusion into the sanctity of the home, I don't know what does.

Having worked with and for government for over three decades, I can say from first-hand experience that you do not want the government's "competent staff" dictating or even helping you with your parenting style.

Given the federal government's fondness for humanism, secularism and moral relativism, this proposal is a prescription for marginalizing parents, imposing Pelosi/Reid/Obama-style values and destroying families.

You have to love these guys: They stridently oppose government intrusion in the bedroom but have no qualms about government intrusion in the nurseries and living rooms of America's families when it furthers their agenda.
