Parts of Canyon Country lose power for five hours

A power outage in Canyon Country left more than 2,700 residents without electricity Thursday morning, according to Southern California Edison officials.

A car struck a utility pole near the intersection of Adon Avenue and Scherzinger Place in Canyon Country, knocking out power to 2,753 customers in Canyon Country, said Paul Klein, Southern California Edison spokesman.

Within 30, seconds power returned for 752 customers. All those affected by the power outage regained power by 12:02 p.m., Klein said.

The power outage was contained to homes bound by Whites Canyon Road on the west, Sierra Highway on the east, and Soledad Canyon Road on the south.
