Numerous city of Santa Clarita Recreation facilities will remain closed today due to air quality issues resulting from current Southern California fires.

City-organized youth sports programs are also cancelled today due to smoky conditions.

The city's Sports Complex Skate Park and Aquatic Center remain closed today and all city-organized youth sports programs and practices are cancelled today at Canyon Country Park, Valencia Meadows Park, and Valencia Heritage Park.

Other youth group reservations also remain cancelled at Santa Clarita Park, Bouquet Canyon Park, Newhall Park and Old Orchard Park.

Though classes remain cancelled, the city's Sports Complex Activities Center and registration desk are open.

Central Park, currently being utilized as a staging area for emergency fire operations, remains closed to the public, as well. All recreation activity at the location is also cancelled until further notice.

Further updates on current air quality conditions can be found at www.aqmd.gov.
