Venturing outside today, you may have noticed ash falling from the sky resulting from the Station Fire. The smoke and ash in the air contain pollutants that can be harmful to your health. The EPA has a list of tips to protect yourself from smoke here which include:

* Run your air conditioner, if you have one. Keep the fresh-air intake closed and the filter clean to prevent bringing smoke inside.
* If you don't have an air conditioner, staying inside with windows closed may be dangerous in extremely hot weather. Seek alternate shelter.
* If you have asthma or another lung disease, make sure you follow your doctor's directions about taking your medications and following your asthma management plan. Call your doctor if your symptoms worsen.

Youth Sports activities have been cancelled and are on a day-to-day basis along with closures of the Activities Center, Sports Complex Gym, Skate Park and Aquatic Center. Residents can call (661) 250-3700 for more information on program and facility availability.

Additionally, the Westfield Valencia Town Center's Movie Night on Town Center Drive has been postponed to September 9 at 6pm.
