A Castaic man and woman were arrested Monday morning after detectives found 18 marijuana plants and dozens of jars filled with the drug, sheriff's deputies said in a statement.

Lawrence Meyer, 56, and Luz Meyer, 36, were arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale, cultivation of marijuana and possession of firearms while committing a felony.

Each was being held in lieu of $50,000.

About 8:15 a.m. Monday, Los Angeles County sheriff's detectives served a search warrant at the suspects' home in the 31000 block of Hasley Canyon Road.

They found 17 fully grown pot plants and 72 jars of marijuana - worth an estimated $330,000 - along with two rifles, two shotguns and two hand guns, the statement said.

A "concerned citizen" tipped off detectives to the drug-growing operation, which was spread out between two residences and a horse corral, the statement said.
