Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station deputies arrested eight suspects following two burglaries -- Sunday morning in Valencia and this morning in Canyon Country.

In the first case, an alert neighbor noticed some odd behavior, dirt bikes stacked near a car on her street and a person she didn't recognize. She contacted the sheriff's station.

Deputies arrived about 5:15 a.m. and found property stacked in the driveway of one of the homes in the 27400 block of Westover Way, Valencia.

They began looking for the suspicious person and then saw three men piling more property in the driveway. When they approached, the men ran into the house, leaving a television and a backpack containing three laptop computers unattended in the driveway.

Deputies contacted all seven people in the home. Four were arrested for burglarizing the home. Two others were friends of the adult teenager who was left to care for the home in her parents' absence.

Adam Paspates, M/21, Matthew Booth, M/19, both of Valencia, Richard Cleversley, M/19, of Canyon Country and a 17-year-old from Valencia were all booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station. The three adults are being held on $50,000 bail each; the juvenile was transported to Sylmar Juvenile Hall.

In the second case, a woman returning home entered her condo in Canyon Country and saw a man on the balcony. She immediately hid inside the home and called 9-1-1.

As deputies were responding about 8:40 a.m., she heard the man enter her house. She remained calm and provided information to the sheriff's dispatcher.

Deputies arrived and caught two suspects outside the home, one suspect inside the home and a fourth suspect, who was seen running from the home, a short time later.

Four male adult suspects were arrested for burglary -- an 18-year-old resident of Palmdale, a 21-year-old resident of Canyon Country, a 19-year-old resident of Canyon Country, and a 19-year-old resident of Lancaster.Their names are not being released pending further investigation.
