Kraut merely rants

Jonathan Kraut's commentary is absolutely hilarious ("Reformers vs. hate and rage," The Signal, Aug. 18).

He writes: "The level of rage and hate has reached a fevered pitch" among those speaking out against President Barack Obama's health care plan.

Then he spends the rest of his commentary viciously spewing out the customary Democrats' rage and hate for those who disagree with Obama.

Democrats want "improved conditions" while opponents are "all angry as hell with any possibility of change." Opponents of Obama are only interested in keeping "power."

Should you dare to oppose Obama's health care plan, you would have retained slavery and opposed a woman's right to vote and equal rights for minorities.

You are "ignorant, vicious haters." You are "greedy" and support "lobbyists."

Because of you, people are dying and losing their homes. Your arguments are the "lamest and most illogical ... imaginable."

Then this: "Those who are opposed to any health care reform are on the wrong side of history, just like those (sic) didn't want to abolish slavery, or give women the right to vote."

(Never mind it was Republicans who abolished slavery over the objections of Democrats. It's called the Civil War, Jonathan).

For years, Kevin Buck, Roberta Gillis, Kraut and other Democrat writers have spewed their poison all over Ronald Reagan, George Bush and now Sarah Palin.

Kraut's commentary contains no rational arguments in favor of Obama's plan.

The whole thing is nothing more than the rantings of a hatemonger, which he purports to deplore.
