The school has raised between $3,000 to $12,000 from the tournament each year for the past ten years. That money helps purchase new uniforms and equipment,  and allow for travel expenses. Usually, 70 to 80 golfers participate each year, according to the school's athletic secretary, Tracey Scott.

Several businesses sponsor the event each year, among them Mercury Broach Co. and Lawrence Distributing Co.

Golfers pay $220 to participate. Sponsorships are available. There is no cut-off date for signing up, and players may pay the entrance fee at the door.
