Correcting Kraut on health care

Addressing Jonathan Kraut’s Aug. 18 opinion piece (“Reformers vs. hate and rage”), I have to say that Mr. Kraut is up to his same old tricks.

Kraut continues his long-running habit of demonizing anyone who does not agree that Democrats are the only party with solutions.

Far from the truth, Republicans in Congress have made great strides (aided by the rightfully concerned citizens) in getting Congress to look at options other than a single-payer system that will undoubtedly lead to rationing of health care across the board.

Should health care become rationed (as it is in France, Great Britain and Canada), our senior citizens will be the first to receive reduced care.

You see, socialized medicine requires that the greatest resources be employed towards those that are most productive to the society.

Calling those who disagree with President Obama and majority Democrats “hateful” is akin to the chant we are hearing nationally, that dissenters of the Democrat agenda are un-American.

This is ironic considering anyone who ever claimed the anti-war crowd was un-American was excoriated for doing so.

The fact of the matter is that there are numerous ways medical care in America can be rehabilitated without creating a Phony Health Insurance Replacement Program.

But Democrats don’t want to hear about it.

Their sole reason for the single-payer option is to deliver the 25 percent of the U.S. economy that is represented by health care into the hands of greedy government bureaucrats.

Don’t be deceived.
