Santa Clarita-based singer-songwriter Johnny Strat and his group Project Wavelength play their farewell performance at the world-famous Whisky on the Sunset Strip Thursday, Aug. 20 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Strat, winner of The-Signal.com's 2008 SCV Rock Star competition in the amateur category, will be backed by Nick Kline (guitars), Corey Waters (keyboards), Collin Gilliard (raps), Josh Nelson (bass) and Daniel Williams (drums).

"Collin (Charlie Black) will be leaving for college in Chicago and this is his farewell performance," Strat said. "The band will disperse for a brief break after this and we want to go out with a bang."

Tickets are $10 through the band.

"The Whisky asked us back, so we're having one last show with more energy, new songs and more fun," Strat said. "Please join us. Call us if you want a ticket."

Among the performers to play the Whisky in its infamous history are The Doors, Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd.

The venue is located at 8901 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood 90069.
