The next Canyon Country Advisory Committee meeting will be held Wednesday, August 19, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m in the George A. Caravalho Activity Center Banquet Room, 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway, Santa Clarita.

This month representatives of Santa Clarita Water Company Division of the Castaic Lake Water Agency will provide rationale for proposed 2010, 2011 and 2012 rate increases. Information about these rate increases were mailed to you with your July water bill. If not convinced, written protests need to be submitted in advance of the SCWD September 9 Public Hearing.

The Los Angeles Fire Department will be providing a presentation on their "Ready, Set, Go Program"

Kevin Tonoian will be providing information about "Annexations into, detachments from, creation of new zones, and dissolution of existing zones, and rate adjustments in Landscape Maintenance District Nos 1, A2 and T1".

So, if aa LMD Ballot was received in the mail this is an opportunity to find out what is going on. The Public Hearing for this item is scheduled for September 8 at City Hall.

Lisa Tipton will be proving information about the "Angel Dogs Foundation"

Some last minute information about the Stormwater ballot will be provided as well. This is an opportunity to learn more about this initiative and how it plays along with Proposition 218.

Lastly, a proposal to form a Canyon Country Advisory Committee Steering Group will be discussed. This group would be made up of CCAC members who would represent our interests in other organizations around the valley.
