Several athletes with Santa Clarita Valley ties are currently in NFL camps across the country.

Kyle Boller: Hart High — St. Louis Rams

The former Ravens starting quarterback, struggled with his accuracy in his first game with his new team, completing 3-of-9 passes for 25 yards. The seven-year veteran and former member of the University of California, Berkeley will next take the field against the Falcons on Friday.

Matt Moore: Hart High — Carolina Panthers

Moore could make his season debut with the Panthers on Monday against the Giants in both team’s preseason opener. He looks to be a prime candidate to snag a back up quarterbacking role.

Isaac Sopoaga: College of the Canyons — San Francisco 49ers

Coming off a season with 40 tackles, Sopoaga had one solo tackle in his opening game of the preseason versus the Denver Broncos.

Jonathan Fanene: College of the Canyons — Cincinnati Bengals

The defensive end with a recent three-year extension from the Bengals did not record a tackle in the team’s preseason-opening loss.

Domata Peko: College of the Canyons — Cincinnati Bengals

A former member of a Michigan State team that went to the Alamo Bowl, Peko recorded a tackle in the Bengals preseason opener. Peko is in the final year of his rookie contract and has already signed a five-year extension with the Bengals.

Justin Tryon: College of the Canyons — Washington Redskins

The cornerback continued his evolution with five tackles in the Redskins preseason opener, notching five tackles in a loss. His five take downs tied him for third on the team in a game where the Redskin defense spent the majority of the day on the field against an efficient Baltimore squad.

Andrew Schantz: Canyon High — Pittsburgh Steelers

After leading Portland State in tackles and earning defensive Most Valuable Player honors, Schantz signed a free agent deal with the Steelers during the offseason and is currently in a battle for a roster spot with the defending Super Bowl Champions.

Troy Nolan: College of the Canyons — Houston Texans

Nolan has been impressive in his first NFL training with Houston, but the rookie safety did not register any tackles in the Texans first preseason game versus the Chiefs
