City officials are encouraging residents to "Keep Santa Clarita Clean" during the month of May and the city is kicking off the effort with Pride Week, beginning Sunday and ending May 10.

Volunteer cleanup opportunities include trash removal, flower planting, graffiti removal and weed pulling in areas of the city needing attention.

Those interested in volunteering must register and select a project through the city's volunteer coordinator. City staff will provide the site that needs improvement and will give volunteers the necessary supplies.

A Graffiti Wipe Out Day will cap off Pride Week on May 10 to eradicate graffiti citywide. The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will be grouped into teams to paint over graffiti. City staff will provide the necessary removal materials and will coordinate and supervise the graffiti removal.
