California Highway Patrol responded to two separate fatal incidents Friday night and early Saturday morning.

Two hikers on Lake Hughes Road spotted an overturned vehicle at the bottom of a ravine at about 6:30 p.m. Saturday night. The vehicle belonged to 63-year-old South Gate resident Francisco Diaz, who was found partially ejected from his vehicle upon Los Angeles County Fire Department's arrival.

Diaz, a employee of Los Angeles County, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 55-year old Saugus man died Saturday morning after his vehicle collided with that of a 21-year-old Saugus man's.

CHP reported that Robert Doyle allegedly fell asleep at the wheel causing him to veer into the opposite lane on Bouquet Canyon Road, north of Shadow Valley Lane, and collide with the northbound driver.

The name of the Saugus man who died has not been released pending notification of family.
