A man wanted for murder in the San Fernando Valley was being held Friday at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

Transit Service deputies took the man to the local station after he boarded a train en route to Santa Clarita without paying his $10 fare, said Lt. Robert Lewis.

"They ran his identification and name; he came out as a wanted murder suspect out of LAPD's area," Lewis said.

The suspect, 21-year-old Andrew Thomas, of Tarzana, was to be detained at the station through the weekend and will appear in court on Monday, Lewis said.
