Never has the time been more important than now to elect Suzan Solomon to the Hart school board.

She has the experience needed to negotiate building a high school in Castaic. The proof is in Pico Canyon Elementary, Oak Hills Elementary and McGrath Elementary.

In the original plans for Stevenson Ranch, a second elementary school was not scheduled to be built until the later phases of the development. Stevenson Ranch Elementary, the first Newhall school on the west side of Interstate 5, opened in 1995. It quickly reached 1,200 students. The district was already on a multi-track calendar.

Something had to be done.

With Suzan Solomon as part of the leadership team, the Newhall School District negotiated with Lennar to build the second elementary school, Pico Canyon Elementary, which opened its doors in 2003 and enabled the district to get off the multi-track calendar.

Wanting to avoid another overcrowding issue in Westridge and Newhall Ranch, once again, with Suzan as part of the leadership team, an agreement was reached to build Oak Hills Elementary.

It should be noted that the Newhall School District passed a bond, Measure K, in 1999. With those funds, the district built McGrath Elementary School and renovated the existing schools.

Suzan gained the experience to negotiate with developers and manage a bond during her 10 years on the Newhall school board.
She also knows our community through her 18 years on PTA and as a soccer coach and Girl Scout leader.

In 2007, Supervisor Antonovich selected Suzan as Woman of the Year for the Fifth Supervisorial District for her contributions and involvement in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Suzan Solomon has experience we can trust.
