The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee will host a Town Hall meeting 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2 in the Disney Modular Theater at California Institute of the Arts located at 24700 McBean Parkway in Valencia.

Featuring a panel of local experts representing law, banking, and commercial and residential real estate, the meeting will provide attendees with an opportunity to hear a unique analysis of the area's economy and what they can do to remain competitive.

"The economy is No. 1 on everyone's list of concerns. Everyone is talking about it, and worrying about it," said Committee Chair John Shaffery, who is also a partner with Poole & Shaffery, LLP. "Our committee saw a lack of factual information about where things really stand in Santa Clarita, however. This meeting will provide business owners with an inside look at our local economy - information they can use to move forward in these challenging times."

Panelists Jim Hicken from Bank of Santa Clarita, Neal Weichel of ReMax, and Craig Peters of CB Richard Ellis will examine how the economy came to its current state, where things stand now, what's likely to happen next, and what it means for local business owners. Shaffery will serve as the moderator.

"Having these three professionals come together to share their expertise and insights is a unique opportunity," Shaffery said. "Together, Jim, Neal, and Craig will provide a complete picture of the Santa Clarita economy. This is one event local business owners will not want to miss."

Free admission; no one under 21 years old allowed. Wine and appetizers will be served. Seating is limited for this event.
