Updated: June 30, 2008 5:01 a.m.

About 243 Valencia residents and Southern California Edison customers went without electricity for more than four hours Sunday night.

The affected area was near Decoro Drive between McBean Parkway and Seco Canyon Road, according to Edison engineers. At 7:58 p.m., four underground units stopped operating, limiting service in the immediate area. According to a resident, service technicians did not arrive until around 11 p.m., though the utility company told The Signal that officials were en route to the area as early as 9 p.m.

Edison had not determined a cause for the outage Monday afternoon, and service resumed at approximately midnight.
