NLOL puts out call for volunteers

Like many nonprofit, volunteer-based organizations, New Leash on Life Animal Rescue has been hit hard by the recession, putting their mission to save shelter animals in jeopardy.

It's this same economic climate that's forcing people to give their animals away. As a result, the shelters are more crowded than ever.

New Leash on Life is in need of contributions to keep its doors open and the Lend a Paw Program alive so therapy dogs can continue their weekly visits to hospitalized patients.

Half way to their goal of $60,000, members of the NLOL Board of Directors have pledged to match all donations dollar for dollar up to $30,000 for the next two months. By September 15, $30,000 must be matched to reach the goal.
