World renowned choreographer Mia Michaels and judge of the Fox TV hit show "So You Think You Can Dance," took a few hours Wednesday to work with more than 60 dancers from the Santa Clarita STARS dance team, which is directed by Holly and Kevin Diaz.

The chance for the young dancers ranging in age from 5 to 18, was the culmination of a year's collaboration between Michaels and The Dance Experience dance studio, where the STARS dance team is located. This year's STARS dance team production number is based on Michaels' quote, "If you dance with your heart, your body will follow."

The team performed this number for Michaels. The dance tells the story that you can try and build a dancer, but it takes a heart and soul to create a real dancer. Several other dance competition numbers were also performed for Michaels, who then picked several team members to be a part of a workshop.

The STARS Jr. National Dance Team trains at The Dance Experience in Canyon Country. It is under the direction of Holly and Kevin Diaz.

Dancers ranging from 5 to 18 years old are from across the Santa Clarita Valley.

Mia Michaels won a 2007 Emmy for So You Think You Can Dance and was a 2004 Emmy nominee for Celine in Las Vegas: Opening Night Live CBS. She is a judge and choreographer on the Fox TV show, "So You Think You Can Dance."
